Amidst criticisms, students of Innovative College of Science and Technology (ICST) increased with the accession of new enrollees.
For many reasons each one has, enrollees flocked to ICST this academic year 2008 – 2009.From the last enrollment record of 345, this year’s enrollment increased to more than 800.
In the last three years, ICST faced the adverse comments and criticisms because of some rumors that the school is in operation but has no permit and has no recognition by the government.
This institution headed by Anthony L. Yap is already recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) just recently.
The first year and the other new comers alone numbered 634 this semester. This is roughly 75% increase not including old students and returnees.
Yap also offered student scholarships for those who can’t afford to pay the tuition fees in full.
Because of this opportunity hundreds of students or so called “Innovators” enrolled this school year, AY 2008 – 2009.
Fresh graduates and transferees from different schools and universities enrolled to pursue their studies toward at lessened expense. The administration staff and faculty members of the said academy are in full support to the new enrollees.
“Noong makatanggap ako ng certificate of scholarship na 75% galing kay Ginoong Anthony L. Yap, sinabi ko sa sarili ko na ito na ang pagkakataong makapagtapos ako sa aking pag-aaral.” I grab the opportunity and I believe that in the end, magtatagumpay ako kasama ang ICST” said the student who received a scholarship grant.
