This year’s Acquaintance Party of the Innovative College of Science & Technology was held Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Ernesto Umali Gymnasium, Bongabong with the theme “Friendship, Camaraderie – Key to Unity”.
The master of the ceremony, Mr. Dave Mercado and Ms. Rhodellen M. Yuzon acknowledged the presence of the ICST President, Mr. Anthony L. Yap, the administration staff and faculty and the students of ICST.
Dr. Moises A. Caguete the ICST College Dean, gave his short opening remarks.
Yap was given a chance to say his inspirational talk and heartfelt gratitude to the ICST staff, faculty and students. He said that he wanted to help the students of ICST to uplift their families out of poverty through his scholarship program.
After some intermission numbers and presentations, the oathaking for elected department officers and newly elected SSC Officers was held officiated by Yap.
The flow of the program continued. Representatives from different departments participated in the modern dance and ballroom dance contests.
The winners in the Modern Dance Contest were the Criminology Department, BSHM Department and BSIT Department which coped the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place respectively.
In the Ballroom dance contest the BSBA/BSC Department and BSHM Department coped the 2nd and 1st place respectively.
The contest winners also received cash awards aside from trophies.
In the search for Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2008, 5 males and 5 females from different departments competed.
The crowned Mr. and Ms. Acquaintance 2008 were Krizlelaine Perez and John Kirby U. Caringal both of HM Department.
Krizlelaine got the Miss Face of the Night award while Ferdinand Sison of BSBA/BSC department got the Mr. Face of the Night title.
Both received trophies and cash awards.
SAO Chairman, Mrs. Maria C. Garbin gave her closing remark before the socialization started.
“I have many things to be thankful for tonight”, said the SAO chairman.
In her talk she thanked for the presence of the President and the cooperation of the staff, the faculty members, student officers and the students as a whole.
The party ended at exactly 1 o’clock in the morning, July 27.
